The More I know the less I know

The Celtic  festival of Samhain marks the start of  darker half of the year. Autumn is well on its way and winter is close. I have decided to take a winter sabbatical, to hang up my  hi vis , diameter tape and laser range finder and spend some time reflecting.   I want to make time to let my curiosity lead me on a journey,  take a deep dive into the mountain of books and that file on my computer that says ‘Scientific papers to review’ .   Although I have been working with and studying trees and ecology in one way or another for nearly 40 years I still have so many questions.   Its that old paradox of knowledge… The More I know the less I know … learning is an endless journey.
